Master of Business Administration - Management of Technology

Program Description

The Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology concentration degree program at Warren National University provides the opportunity to explore issues and master concepts involved in the management of technology and technology-based organizations.

The Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology degree program takes students to a greater depth in understanding the implications of technology in the organization, particularly in light of external forces and how it fits into the general world of science, government and business. This program recognizes the direction of an organization's efforts in the management of technology, and may well be one of the critical success factors in any management portfolio.

Program Objectives

In addition to the objectives listed for the School of Business master-level degree, upon graduation, Management of Technology concentration students will be able to:

  • Evaluate customer needs surveys and their implications on product design
  • Apply macroeconomic models, theories, and application principles to new product lines
  • Manage the innovation of technical projects with high-risk processes on time and within budget
  • Research scientific and technology approaches to solving management and engineering problems
  • Differentiate between morality and ethical theory from the perspective of corporate responsibility
  • Demonstrate expertise in the selection process to specify and procure software and hardware
  • Utilize technology for competitive advantage
  • Demonstrate proficiency in management of technology at the master's degree level

Program Requirements

A minimum of 36 credits is required to graduate with a Master of Business Administration in Management of Technology (students may exceed 36 credits in satisfying the requirements). All credits must be from 500- to 700-level coursework.

Business Administration Core 15 credits required
Culminating Activities 12 credits required
Management of Technology Electives 9 credits minimum required

 

Business Administration Core

15 credits required. Must include the following courses. All courses are 3 credits each.

BUS505 - Business Communication
BUS510 - Organizational Behavior
ETH650 - Ethics in Decision Making
RES671 - Statistics for Graduate Students
RES675 - Research Methods

 

Culminating Activities

12 credits required. Must include the following courses.

FPP680 - The Thesis Proposal (3 credits)
FPP690 - The Thesis (9 credits)

 

Management of Technology Electives

9 credits minimum required. All courses are 3 credits each.

MOT520 - Strategic Management of Technology
MOT530 - Project Management and Leadership
MOT610 - Understanding and Forecasting Technology Development
MOT620 - Managing Information Resources in a Technology Organization
MOT630 - Managing Innovation in a Technological Environment
MOT640 - Science and Technology Policy
