General Information

General information about Warren National University

Academic Performance of a Student

Each student has the opportunity to continue his or her education at Warren National University as long as satisfactory academic progress is being made, and as long as the student is complying with all University expectations. The student's cumulative grade point average is computed at the end of each course. Undergraduate students must maintain a grade point average of at least 2.00 to remain in good standing. Graduate level students must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.00.

Students who fail to meet these standards will be placed on academic probation. Failure to meet these standards during the session on probation may result in suspension from the University. A student suspended from the University for poor academic performance will remain suspended until a written appeal for readmission is approved by the Dean of the School in which the student is enrolled. The appeal must include an explanation of why the student has not performed up to standard as well as a plan for improvement.

Transfer of Credits from Another Institution

Transfer of academic credits from other institutions involve both quantitative and qualitative considerations. There is no automatic process in place for this process. University officials will carefully evaluate prior academic work from recognized institutions in order to determine appropriate transferability of credit. To be considered for transfer, previous coursework must be listed on an official transcript bearing the signature of the Registrar and official seal of the institution from which it is issued. Transfer credit will be awarded only within the first 20 days of a student's enrollment at Warren National University.

Academic Transferability

Students who plan to earn class credit or a degree from Warren National University, and then transfer to another university, are encouraged to contact that university in advance, as Warren National's credits and degrees may not be transferable.

  1. Courses from other regionally accredited institutions must be evaluated during the admissions process (within 120 days of enrollment). Official transcripts are required for the evaluation process to take place.
  2. Transfer credit will be awarded only for courses with a letter grade of C or higher.
  3. No grade points will be associated with courses accepted for transfer credit. Each Warren National University transfer student will begin with a new grade point average.

  6. The age of previous coursework may affect transferability. 7. The age of transfer work may influence transferability.

Credit for Prior Learning

Warren National University is receptive to awarding academic credit for learning acquired through non-collegiate experiences. By definition, non-collegiate experiences will be considered as learning resulting from experiences when the individual was not enrolled in an educational institution for academic credit.

Non-collegiate learning may be considered for transfer if such work is documented and submitted by means of the portfolio. By definition, the portfolio is a concise and explicit document that clearly identifies non-collegiate learning that merits academic credit. Academic credit for non-collegiate learning is restricted to verifiable learning. Students interested in submitting a portfolio should review the specific information located under the Prior Learning Assessments section of approved courses.

Withdrawal From a Course

A student who officially withdraws from a course during the first week of the session will be entitled to a full refund of tuition if paid on a per-service basis. A student who withdraws from a course after the first week will be credited according to the refund schedule based on the activation date of the course and continuing for four consecutive weeks. Late registration and/or class absences are not considered exceptions to the refund policy. Refer to page 69 for the exact refund policy.

To be considered official, the course withdrawal must be in writing and signed by the student requesting the withdrawal; no verbal withdrawal will be accepted. The written notice submitted by the student must contain the student's name, signature, student I.D. number, and course(s) to be dropped. The notice may be faxed or mailed to the University.

The official date of the withdrawal is the date the written notice is formally received by the University, not the postmarked date or the date sent in the notice. The University's record concerning a withdrawal is indisputable, unless the student can provide reliable evidence of an earlier receipt date. If the exact withdrawal date is critical to the student, it is recommended that the student send the withdrawal by registered mail.

Withdrawal From the University

Withdrawal from the University is a complete, official severance from the degree program. To be considered official, the withdrawal must be in writing and signed by the student requesting the withdrawal; no verbal withdrawal is accepted. The written notice submitted by the student must contain the student's name, signature, student I.D. number, and program from which to be withdrawn.

All admission and academic records of the student are the property of Warren National University and will remain on file for five years. A former student who withdrew in good standing will be allowed automatic readmission for a period of three months. After three months, the student's credentials must be re-evaluated for admission to Warren National University.

Residency Requirements

In order to meet requirements for an undergraduate degree, the student must complete at least thirty (30) semester credits at Warren National University. Any successfully completed Warren National University course will help satisfy this requirement.

Graduate students are required to complete twenty-four (24) semester credits at the master's level or thirty-nine (39) semester credits at the doctoral level at Warren National University. Any successfully completed Warren National University course will help satisfy this requirement.

Time Limit for Completing Degree Program

Degree programs are continually updated as new knowledge, business conventions, and social development dictate. To receive the most current and relevant degree, the faculty advise the student to graduate under the standards of the most current catalog. However, the student will be allowed to graduate by meeting the requirements for the degree in force at the time of initial enrollment, provided all degree requirements are completed within five (5) years. Should a student fail to graduate within five years of initial enrollment, he/she can graduate only by meeting the degree requirements of the currently enforced University catalog. This will require a student to undergo a re-evaluation of degree requirements and may affect the applicable tuition rate.

Licenses and Credentials

The University is oriented to those individuals not seeking licenses or credentials. If a license or a credential is desired, a search should be conducted on state and federal association and credential requirements before applying. We are approved to receive the test results of the American College Testing Program (ACT) and Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAT).

Student Visit

Warren National is committed to providing high quality, personalized, and individual instruction for students located both throughout the United States and in foreign countries. The University encourages all students, if possible, to visit the University at the time of enrollment or during their matriculation. This visit gives new students an opportunity to meet face to face with the people they will be working with on the Warren National staff and allows the University to better understand students' needs. During this meeting, curriculum may be discussed along with the students' professional goals as they relate to their studies.

Students who desire to visit the University will receive reimbursement for airfare (not to exceed $300), either as a tuition credit toward their final payment or as a reimbursement check if their tuition obligation has been met. The visit may take place during the no-cost evaluation assessment to determine eligibility process, or prior to graduation. Students who are participating in graduation ceremonies are not eligible for reimbursements.

This is done to provide Warren National students with the most current reading material available, in subject areas that are constantly changing as a result of technological changes in the respective discipline. Therefore, the University reserves the right to modify course descriptions through additions or deletions as new texts are adopted.

Technology Requirements

Warren National University is an online program. Students will require access to a computer (Windows or Macintosh) meeting the following minimum hardware and software specification:

  • VGA-display with 800 by 600 pixel resolution
  • Sound card and speakers or headset
  • Unique and dedicated email address and HTML compatible email client
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader and RTF (rich text format) document editor (MS Word preferred)
  • Current Browser: Cookies must be enabled with Java and Macromedia Flash Plug-ins supported
  • Antivirus software solution (Symantec's Norton Anti-Virus or McAfee VirusScan)

Access to the internet through a high-speed connection such as DSL, cable modem, or faster connection is preferred. Standard 56K dial-up modem is a far less desirable option but has been used effectively by some students. The Internet Service Provider (ISP) must be reliable.

Grievance Policy

When a student has a grievance with either an employee or a procedure of Warren National University, that student should attempt to resolve the matter informally with the employee directly or with the employee implementing the procedure. If a resolution is not made, the next step would be to speak with the direct supervisor in charge. An attempt to resolve the matter should be completed within fourteen (14) business days from the date when the issue first arose. If the University does not provide a resolution within those fourteen business days or the student is not satisfied with the solution, a formal grievance can be placed within ten (10) business days thereafter.

Student grievances must be submitted in writing and signed by the student. The grievance must contain the student's address and phone number, a detailed statement of the issue in question, whether informal procedures were available and completed, and any resolution that was provided.

If the student will be assisted by a lawyer or some other form of legal councel, the student must submit the name of the individual and a signed statement authorizing the individual to receive copies of relevant student records and correspondence regarding the grievance.

When the University has received the student grievance, it will be forwarded to the Student Support Manager. That individual will review the grievance and then present it to the Director of Student Services. The Director of Student Services will review the information provided by the student and will make a final resolution in regard to the grievance. This resolution could be similar to that of the informal resolution, however, the Director of Student Services' decision is the final decision.

The grievance will be resolved within fourteen (14) business days from receipt of the formal grievance from the student. Once the resolution has been determined, a letter will be sent to the student with a summary of the issue(s) presented by the grievance and a conclusion regarding the resolution of the grievance.

Graduation/Commencement

Although Warren National students graduate throughout the calendar year, successful candidates are invited to participate in scheduled graduation ceremonies.
